How do I verify my Barter account
There is a button in your homepage that says "Verify your identity", click on it.
For our Nigerian users, we require your BVN and Date of Birth to verify you, the other steps are easy to follow thereafter.
While for other countries, to verify your account we require a valid means of ID from your country of sign up. We would advise you upload an original document (photocopies and laminated copies should not be used as this would be authenticated against facial security features).
I have uploaded my ID, why is my account not verified?
Confirm you have properly scanned your ID via the application.
Also, check that you have uploaded a valid ID for the registered country.
If you have fulfilled all the steps above and still have this issue, send a mail to email@example.com with your Barter email address and our amazing support team would review this.
For Nigerian Users
My BVN is displaying on my app but my account is not verified
Reach out to support or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ensure you share with us the email address linked to your account, a screenshot of your Barter profile page on the application clearly showing the space for your BVN, as well as your BVN itself.
I am trying to add my BVN and it says my BVN already exists
This means your BVN has previously been used to verify another account.
In the event that you do not have a second account,
- launch your barter app,
- click on settings at the top of the home page,
- click on the name initials/your picture at the top right corner of the page
and share a screenshot of your profile page with us via email@example.com
There is no option to input my BVN in settings on the web

I do not have the phone number I used for my BVN... what can i do?
You can either go to your bank to update it or you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know what the issue is.

I have already entered my BVN, and I still get the prompt to verify my account
Please send an email to email@example.com with the registered email address on your account, along with the error message received so we can resolve this as soon as possible.
